Mycelium on Tabletopia and New Active Player Marker Added to both Editions!

Mycelium: A Mushling Game on Tabletopia!

The folks from Tabletopia have added Mycelium: A Mushling Game to their platform. Tabletopia is a free (with paid subscription options) multi-platform 3D program where you can play tons of board games, many of them completely free to play. You can click on this link to check out Mycelium: A Mushling game right now, for free, directly from your desktop browser! This is really awesome news for any of you who want to check the game out digitally, but don't have Tabletop Simulator on Steam to download the existing mod I made. The Tabletopia version contains 2-4 player setups, hotseat play for local multiplayer, and even online play.

New Active Player Marker Added to BOTH Editions!

A commenter suggested an active player marker of some sort, to help track whose turn it is. This is particularly important for the 2 player variant, as the back and forth between the other player can get confusing as you forget which hand of cards you are supposed to be holding. We felt a component like this is necessary for the 2 player variant, and may be helpful to some in the standard games. So we found some space on the existing punchboard, and added a cardboard Active Player Token! Check out this little glow worm creature, as seen in the Worker's Spore Caves:

Because this little cutie fits on the punchboard we already need for tokens and the Hero Tavern tile, this does not increase the weight of the game so shipping will not be affected by its addition. If you are unfamiliar with how an Active Player Token works, it's as simple as putting this token in front of the player whose turn it is, and then moving it to the next player when their turn begins. This may sound useless to some of you planning to play with 3-4 players, but for the 2 player variant this can really help. If you look at the Specular Board Games 2 player playthrough, you'll see that there are times where they have to question which colony they are supposed to be in control of. We've encountered the same issue in our playtest, and a simple token like this is all that's needed to avoid the confusion entirely. We wanted to make sure this component is included in both editions of the game, not matter what the funding gets up to.

7 Days Left!

As I repeatedly say, we are blown away by the amount of support for our first game and we couldn't be happier :) Currently, we are working on finalizing more design files for manufacturing, and hope to continue verifying our files with the manufacturer this week. If you aren't familiar with the process, we are trying to be able to start manufacturing as soon as possible after the campaign ends. The art for our game is over 99% complete now, but there is still a formatting process so that these files print as good as they look digitally. I've been a backer of several campaigns, and typically there is a lot of artwork and illustration done after the campaign ends, which accounts for a lot time post campaign. Illustration/graphic design is a ton of work for board games, so we wanted to have most of it done before the campaign even launched. Abi has been working super hard, even during this campaign, to make sure you can meet her Mushling creatures as soon as possible! But there can be many delays in the process these days, hence the October 2023 ship date.

New Meeple Add-On!

Since the $110k Stretch Goal has been unlocked, you can now add the $3 Add-On Gatherer Mushling Meeples to your pledge! This add-on is a set of 4 Meeples, 1 of each color, with different designs from the Deluxe and Standard sets. If you are a Deluxe Edition backer, just adding 1 of these add-ons allows you to play the game with a different meeple design for each of your 3 Gatherer Mushlings! PAX Unplugged Recap

PAX Unplugged was amazing and it was so nice to meet some of our backers in person. Everyone that stopped by was so nice and supportive and we are so happy to be a part of such a positive community :) I will make sure to have extra demo space next time so more of you can get a chance to play the game.
